March 2020

Hello Fellow Atlantic Region Mambers and Friends:

As you are aware, we're having our Luncheon at the 76 House in Tappan, New York on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 12:00 Noon. This is the third announcement of this event in as many weeks but in my capacity as your Chairman I just realized something....

Our lunch is three days before March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day.  Being a son, or at least a grandson of old Eire, it seems appropriate that I officially christen this event our Saint Patrick's Day Party.  St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was actually a Roman born in Scotland and is credited with driving the snakes out of Ireland, as illustrated below:

While it's a bit far fetched to assume he drove them in a Proper Motor Car, Rolls Royce does have a rich long history in Ireland with a 1947 Silver Wraith landaulette still commissioned as its Presidential State Car.  Rolls Royce armored vehicles were also used by both sides in the Irish Civil War.

So come out on March 14th in your Green (or Orange, or Roman garb, or a Scottish kilt if so inclined) and we'll celebrate the day in style with a 3 course plated lunch and dessert that strangely doesn't include corned beef (that's ok, they never ate it in Ireland either) We'll muster up some Irish soda bread or at least some Green bagels.  And there'll be some bubbly to wash it all down.

So make my Irish eyes smile and reply right now, this minute while its in front of you and on your mind.  Mark the date, commit to however many seats you need, and reply to this email with that information. Remember, its $49 per person for a three course meal. The 76 House is being kind enough to provide us with champagne and mimosas...there'll be a cash bar for anything harder (Irish coffee, perhaps?)

Mail your checks to RROC c/o ACOE COMMUNICATIONS, 695 Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054.  It makes our lives much easier when you pay in advance so get out those checkbooks and stamps; sorry -- no visa, mastercard, amex, diners club, carte blanche, barkleycard, letters of credit, or Micronesian giant stone coins accepted at this time.

Happy Motoring & Erin go Bragh!

Joe Marley, Chairman
