Announcing A Non-Event!!
This year’s holiday party was a major success, enjoyed by all (and infinite thanks to Joanne Horvath,) but, now, we must look to the future…………..well, at least next month.
Traditionally, January is a slow month for car clubs in the NorthEast. I mean, who wants to take their pretty cars out in these conditions: ice, snow, road salt, Christmas carolers and other roadway obstacles.
And, so, I propose that we leave our cars at home, in garages that have better environmental controls than our own homes and DO NOTHING.
Yes, just do nothing. And, I will be doing nothing on the morning of Sunday, January 19, 2020, around 11:30 at Prime 957 Steak House in Mahopac, NY, and I invite all in the region to do nothing with me at this venue for a non-event. No cars, probably no speaker, just a chance to talk to friends and share a delicious brunch with Mimosas-or Bloody Marys.
Mahopac is a pretty little town, centered around the coincidentally named Lake Mahopac. Just north of the Westchester/Putnam County line, it is reached, from just about all points north or south, via the Taconic State Parkway, arguably one of the most beautiful rural highways in the region; east and west via Route 6. Additional directions are available, if you don't have GPS or if yours has told you to kiss off,” like ours has done on numerous occasions.
Being that this is a non-event, there is a non-entry fee of $0.00(USD), and I ask that you mail it to wherever you want.
I have attached a link to the brunch menu for everyone’s convenience. I do ask that you tell me if you will be coming so that I can reserve the proper number of seats. (No cost for this non-event, it is just an informal get-together, and so, just cover yourself at the restaurant.)
Did I say Christmas carolers in January, above? Either I am losing my mind, or they must have lost their way home.
